UNC Doctrine

Mark M Creech’s "UNC Doctrine" article 8/7/02 is surprising for a member of the clergy. As a Palestinian American who is a member of a Christian community that predates any in Europe or America, I am offended by Creech’s complete lack of charity. To attack Islam and quote the Quran out of context and in translation when most Muslims believe it is divinely inspired at best shows a lack of sensitivity and unbelievable poor manners. Unfortunately, our long tradition of producing an enlightened society such as we have in this country fails to rub off on some of us. Suffering a public display of intolerance is never pleasant but it is the price we have to pay for remaining an open society.
